Hoosick -- State Department of Environmental Conservation police are investigating the woods off a service road on Route 22 in the town in response to a tip about possible illegal solid waste dumping, officials said Friday. The tip came "from a concerned citizen," DEC spokeswoman Emily DeSantis said. WTEN, NEWS10 ABC, alerted the agency of the possible illegal dump. "DEC is investigating if this alleged illegal disposal of commercial waste materials contains PFOA and if the soil at the site is contaminated," DeSantis said. On Friday, at least five vehicles were at the location behind 21446 Route 22 not far from the Family Dollar store and the school district transportation department.
