A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck the town of Yelizovo in eastern Russia, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. A smaller magnitude-5.1 temblor followed. The first quake occurred about 3:25 p.m. local time, with the second quake coming about 17 minutes later. No tsunami warnings have been issued, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center website.
