A pair of earthquakes — measured at magnitudes of 4.9 and 5.0 — were recorded off the Northern California coast Friday evening, officials reported.
Both quakes hit around 4:30 p.m. more than 200 miles off the Humboldt County coast, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquakes struck along the San Andreas Fault, which has been active with several quakes recently.
