An officer-involved shooting led to an hourslong manhunt in South Tacoma early Friday morning, but the subject of the search eluded police. The incident began late Thursday night, Tacoma Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said, when two officers were searching for 32-year-old Kenneth E. Wright Jr., who had outstanding warrants for first-degree robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm. They found the suspect’s vehicle parked on the side of a road and approached the car, but a woman driving it accelerated and tried to hit the officers, Cool said. One of the officers fired and hit the female driver, stopping the car. Police said Wright, armed with a rifle, exited the car and took off on foot.
