It's time for Alabama politicians to pull their heads out their holes
Tuesday is Groundhog Day, when the big rodent pokes his head out and makes some stab at predicting the future. It is Groundhog Day when – as Bill Murray immortalized in film – we ought to take a look around and learn from the mistakes of the past.
But Tuesday is not just Groundhog Day. It is the beginning of the regular session of the Alabama Legislature, when senators and representatives pull their wooly heads out of their holes and show them to the world. And show again that they learn nothing.
Except how to pander and politic and protect themselves.
