Equal pay measure would address continuing wage gap for women, lawmakers toldWomen workers still make less than 79 cents on the dollar in Nebraska compared with men's pay. That disparity lingers despite decades of efforts to ensure women are paid fairly for the work they do and at an equal level with their male counterparts in similar jobs. On Monday, supporters of a bill to broaden Nebraska's equal pay protections told members of a legislative committee that the measure could put thousands of dollars more into working women's pockets every year.
