A Northwestern University police lieutenant is facing child pornography charges in Cook County, according to court records and officials. Ronald Godby, 53, of Mount Prospect, has been charged with manufacturing and possessing child pornography, as well as grooming, the records say. He appeared in bond court Wednesday afternoon in Rolling Meadows, where his bond on the felony charges was set at $100,000. Godby, who also runs a photography business from a studio in his home, is accused of taking photographs revealing the genitalia of a girl when she was 13 and again last year, around the time the girl turned 17, according to police and a criminal complaint read by a prosecutor at the hearing. The complaint said he also reached out to the girl on Snapchat in January, asking her to do another photo shoot, and attached photos of a scantily clad woman, telling the girl that she would look good posed in a similar matter.
