U. of C. professor quits after university sexual misconduct investigationA University of Chicago professor recently quit his job as school officials were preparing to fire him for violating school policy regarding sexual misconduct, according to a university statement. While the university statement did not name him, the school separately confirmed that Jason Lieb, a professor in the Department of Human Genetics, submitted his resignation in January, less than two years after he was hired. In response to questions about Lieb's employment, a U. of C. spokesman released the statement confirming that a faculty member was accused of engaging in "inappropriate behavior" during an off-campus party in November and was promptly investigated by the school's Title IX coordinator, Sarah Wake. The statement said the school determined that his actions were in violation of the university's policy on "harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct," and he resigned. Separately, a university document about the investigation obtained by the Tribune identifies the person as Lieb.
