CHEYENNE – Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead, once a strong opponent of Medicaid expansion in Wyoming, told people at a rally Monday why he changed his mind. He encouraged people there to contact their state legislators and let them know that they support Medicaid expansion. The Wyoming Legislature has long objected to expanding Medicaid to close to 20,000 people in Wyoming. Legislators say they are afraid the federal government won’t pay its share and the state will get stuck with the bill. “I think it is the right thing to do,” Mead said at the rally, sponsored by the Wyoming Association of Churches.
