Federal agents and police say they've taken a significant step in disrupting the heroin pipeline from Detroit to West Virginia with the indictments of 14 people in U.S. District Court. The charges were handed up on Feb. 2 and unsealed today in Clarksburg as agents swept through the region to make arrests and haul suspects into court. Pittsburgh FBI, which oversees West Virginia, said a ring from Detroit traveled to Morgantown to distribute heroin in northern West Virginia in 2014 and last year. The state has the highest heroin overdose rate in the United States, with much of the supply historically coming from Detroit.
