CASPER, Wyo. — A judge ruled Wednesday a 23-year-old Gillette man should serve time in prison for threatening a Wyoming State Trooper and other people with a knife last year. Natrona County District Judge Daniel Forgey sentenced James Lynn Johnson to 10 to 20 years in prison. Johnson previously pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and one count of felony possession of methamphetamine for the May 1 incident on Interstate 25, just outside Casper. His defense attorney, Rob Oldham, told the judge the crime was driven by Johnson’s addiction to meth. Officers who searched Johnson’s car on the day of the incident found more than 22 grams of the drug in his trunk.
