Simpsonville City Councilwoman said ejection violated fourth ammendmentSimpsonville City Councilwoman Sylvia Lockaby claims her rights were violated when Mayor Janice Curtis had her removed from Tuesday's Simpsonville City Council meeting. "I contacted the Municipal Association and talked to the Appalachian Council of Government," Lockaby said Thursday. "What she did was wrong, totally wrong. She violated my Fourth Amendment rights. "When I was escorted out of that room by a police officer, that was illegal seizure." Curtis said according to Simpsonville ordinances, the mayor has a right to have anyone causing a disturbance removed from a city meeting.
