Most agencies are keeping mum as they reconfigure budgets that have been ordered cut by 4.05 percent as a result of vastly diminished sales tax dollars. The momentum seems to be working toward a grand unveiling on Wednesday, the deadline for revised budgets to be submitted to the North Dakota Office of Management and Budget. Gov. Jack Dalrymple ordered $244.9 million in cuts, the largest such cut implemented by a North Dakota governor. Officials presented a solid front and spoke of confidence in being able to make it through the period of reduced revenues. “We’ve been through this before. We’ll get through this,” said Mark Zimmerman, director of North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department.
