CHEYENNE – A decision on whether Wyoming will pass a Medicaid expansion proposal this year could come later this week. Since no standalone Medicaid expansion bills were proposed this year, supporters of the expansion will have to rely on the state’s budget amendment process to attempt to pass the proposal this year. The Legislature began discussing the state’s two-year budget bill Monday. That work will continue Tuesday, and the House and Senate are expected to start considering budget amendments Thursday. Democratic leaders said Monday they are unsure how and when exactly they will attempt to add the expansion into the state’s budget bill.
