Gov. Andrew Cuomo has signed onto a national energy accord to pledge to continue to seek alternative energy sources, modernize energy infrastructure and work with other governors’ to transition to renewable energy sources. Cuomo joins 16 other governors, including those of Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Vermont, in signing onto the Governors’ Energy Accord Coalition. “From the creation of a $5 billion Clean Energy Fund to implementing our ambitious Clean Energy Standard, New York is fully committed to our role as a national leader in growing the clean tech economy,” Cuomo said in a statement. “We are proud to join with other states seeking to achieve the same goal and by working together, we can develop an effective national energy policy to ensure a safer, greener and more sustainable future for all.” Read more: blog.timesunion.com/capitol/archives/246191/cuomo-signs-17-state-energy-accord/
