Prosecutors say that Thomas Hoey, Jr., now facing charges he embezzled $800,000 from his company’s retirement funds as he lived the high life, spent lavishly at gentlemen’s clubs, and on cocaine, alcohol, and prostitutes.
The drug involvement landed Hoey, the Long Island Banana Corp. heir a 12-year sentence last April, but his defense says details of those activities should be kept out of his current case, unfolding in Manhattan Federal Court.
The feds say that from 2005 to 2010, Hoey traded large quantities of coke for sexual and social favors, and that in January 2009, Hoey callously covered up a woman's death in a drugged up orgy.
