CONCORD — Lawmakers are pushing to loosen restrictions in some of the state’s liquor laws in three bills the Senate passed Thursday. The bills would allow liquor to be served at college sporting and entertainment complexes, fermented pear juice to be considered cider, and beer and wine sampling at farmers’ markets. The University of New Hampshire asked lawmakers to introduce Senate Bill 301, which allows a cocktail lounge liquor license at sporting or entertainment events in a clearly defined area, but not in stadium seating. The bill would allow the sale of alcohol at the Whittemore Center’s new sky boxes or any other similar facility for NCAA events, but not for interscholastic games.
