A Cumberland County man was arraigned in court Thursday for abusing his infant son, who suffered 18 fractures to his arms, legs and ribs in December, according to an ABC27 report. The 1-month-old son of Mounty Holly Springs resident James R. Brenneman, 21, was taken to the hospital in December after mulitple bruises were found on his body, the report said. Doctors discovered the fractures during the visit, according to the report. Brenneman, 21, was arraigned on two counts each of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Brenneman told police he dropped the infant on a bassinet while changing his diaper and he could have been injured after the baby dropped a cell phone on his face, the report said.
