Cruz talks court, Carson criticizes Obama at conservative eventDiscussions of the future of the U.S. Supreme Court dominated a gathering of conservative leaders, including Sen.Ted Cruz and Ben Carson, Thursday evening. Sen. Marco Rubio was scheduled to attend the event but did not appear. About 5,000 people attended the rally hosted by the Conservative Review at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. The night belonged to Ted Cruz, who spoke last and drew the most supporters, judging by the density of his campaign signs. That's no surprise, considering Cruz is a favorite of the Conservative Review, which issues liberty scores based on politicians' voting records. Cruz focused on Supreme Court decisions that have come down to one vote to demonstrate the importance of the seat that is now empty in the nation's highest court as a result of the death of Justice Antonin Scalia last week.
