Jury rules against ex-inmate in overflowing toilet lawsuit COLUMBUS: Jurors have ruled against a former central Ohio inmate who said jail guards kept inmates in a cell with an overflowing toilet, leaving him covered in sewage. The Columbus Dispatch reports jurors deliberated for less than an hour Wednesday, finding in favor of Franklin County, the sheriff’s office, six deputies and other officials. Robert Krutko had sued in federal court, saying in 2009 Franklin County jail guards refused to let anyone out for nearly half an hour while the toilet supposedly overflowed. He said inmates scooped sewage underneath the door and that guards taunted and laughed at them. Witnesses for the county said there wasn’t any record of an overflowing toilet.
