ARNOLD • Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt formally announced his re-election campaign Friday, lambasting President Barack Obama and asking supporters let him "continue representing you at a critical time." Blunt criticized Obama as a weak world leader and an anti-business president, but made no mention of his likely Democratic opponent, Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander. "Our friends don't trust us anymore and our enemies aren't afraid of us anymore," said Blunt, criticizing Obama's foreign-policy record. He quipped that the only countries in the world where we now have better relations than we used to do are Iran and Cuba. Blunt also stood by his position that he will vote against any Supreme Court nomination that Obama makes — even if it were his own daughter, who is lawyer. "I think the American people ought to be able to vote" on the issue with their choice of the next president, he said.
