CHEYENNE – Democratic lawmakers issued strong condemnations Friday following the passage of the House and Senate budget plans. The proposals slash state agency spending, cut education funding and reduce or defund several programs that help low-income residents. “I’m frustrated and I’m disappointed,” said Rep. Charles Pelkey, D-Laramie. “It seems like the Legislature right now is just in panic mode.” After a marathon 11-hour day of hearing dozens of amendments, both houses voted to give final approval to their versions of the state’s two-year budget bill.
