If the Massachusetts Legislature had a liquor license, it would have been padlocked decades ago as a public nuisance. It’s a crime school, a den of thieves, reprobates, the worst of the worst. You lock up one crook, and another one immediately pops up, often from the very same district. Last week the G-men raided the law offices of Sen. Brian “Multiple Choice” Joyce, D-Milton. It was the feds’ first or second salvo of the year, depending on how you count ex-Rep. John George, late of Dartmouth, now of Devens (the federal pen). So far the feds have found $2.5 million in his safety-deposit boxes, but the raids started late last year, so I don’t know whether he goes down on the list for 2015 or 2016. Everybody knows about the three convicted-felon House speakers, not to mention the current occupant of the office, the unindicted co-conspirator. But in a crime family, not everyone can become the Godfather. They also serve, who only steal and rob. Serve time, a lot of them, but not nearly enough.
