After an unseasonably warm few months, winter struck Pennsylvania with a vengeance in recent weeks – with temperatures dropping to 9 degrees on Valentines Day weekend. For many families in the Keystone State, the bitter cold meant a weekend indoors, curled up on the couch with a hot beverage in hand. But, for an unprecedented number of other Pennsylvanians, the plummeting temperatures had far more dire implications.
