Authorities are investigating a possible cross burning in south Mississippi.
The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office was notified Thursday evening of something burning on Sontag Nola Road in the Sontag community, about 70 miles west of Hattiesburg.
"When investigators arrived it appeared to be a small cross burning," the sheriff's office posted to its Facebook page.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation was notified of the incident and are investigating.
