A group seeking to legalize marijuana in North Dakota resubmitted on Friday its petition to put the issue up to a statewide vote. The sponsoring committee of the initiated measure had to resubmit its paperwork after its initial filing used out-of-date listing of state laws that would need to be changed to legalize marijuana. The secretary of state’s office will review the revised paperwork. It will draft a summary of the petition that would be used in the signature-gathering process as soon as March 4 and no later than March 8. The sponsoring committee would then have until July 11 to gather the 13,452 signatures needed to get the measure on the statewide ballot in November.
