LUDINGTON - A former Lansing attorney reported to jail Tuesday night to begin his sentence for a child abuse charge in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a boy in Mason County. David Anderson was sentenced to a year in jail by Mason County Circuit Court Judge Susan K. Sniegowski, with six months up front and the remainder suspended, his attorney said. Anderson was also sentenced to five years of probation. He pleaded no contest to one count of attempted second-degree child abuse on Jan. 7 in 51st Circuit Court in Ludington. Two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct were dropped as part of the deal. "Mr. Anderson is glad to have this case over with and he’s looking forward to putting this behind him," said Gary Springstead, one of Anderson's defense attorneys.
