Sen. J. Chapman “Chap” Petersen, D-Fairfax, had an interesting February, and it wasn't because of his "dooring" legislation to make it safer for cyclists riding around cars. Petersen had his car - a hybrid Ford Fusion with the license plate “Senate of Virginia #20” - stolen near his Richmond home in the 2600 block of Park Avenue in the Fan District overnight on the night of Feb. 11. The car was recovered on Feb. 15, according to Richmond police spokesperson Gene Lepley. Petersen posted to his Facebook page about the incident, writing that "Richmond police found the car a few blocks away from the Capitol.
