The revenue department said in early January that it would be sending out tax refunds late this year. “By delaying tax refunds by just a few weeks, we’ll be able to better detect attempts at identity theft and ensure taxpayer refunds do not fall needlessly into hands of criminals,” state Revenue Director Connie Beard said in a Jan. 4 news release.
