CONCORD — It just got easier for New Hampshire consumers to shop for the best prices in health care, as the state Insurance Department launched an upgrade of its cost-comparison website, with more procedures listed, and for the first time, prices on dental care and prescription drug costs. “People in the Granite State do their research before any important purchase, such as buying a car,” said Insurance Department Commissioner Roger Sevigny. “They ought to have that same right when it comes to their heath care expenses.” The redesign of NHHealthCost.org, which went live on Thursday, is the latest iteration of a website that has earned the state national honors. New Hampshire is one of only five states that provides such information online in a searchable database, and was the only state to earn an “A” last year in a national report card on access to health care prices issued by two nonprofit organizations that focus on health care reform.
