Three people were arrested today after a bottle was thrown at cops and scuffles broke out when an initially peaceful protest of education cuts by hundreds of students moved from Boston Common to Downtown Crossing. A number of high school-aged youths stood at the corner of Washington and Winter streets and were face to face with police officers standing in front of the store's doorways when the crowd suddenly scattered after a bottle was thrown at one of the cops. Part of the crowd went running up Winter Street while others fled down Summer Street as police moved in to arrest a demonstrator. Another high school-aged male was arrested by two officers after running toward the Downtown Crossing T station. A nearby flower vendor completed a sale as the arrest was happening and began recording the fray after handing over a dozen roses to a customer. Two students climbed on a nearby trash can to watch the arrest. Read more: www.bostonherald.com/news/local_coverage/2016/03/3_arrested_after_student_protest_turns_violent
