CONCORD — State senators passed a handful of bills Thursday to combat the heroin and opioid epidemic, with tacit acknowledgement the efforts are just part of a continued plan to save lives. The bills include supplemental funding of about $2.5 million for the governor’s commission on alcohol and drug abuse prevention, with a spending plan subject to approval of the Legislature’s fiscal committee. An additional $125,000 is being proposed for the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office to hire an attorney dedicated to prosecuting drug cases.
