Senate will be rolling the dice on casino gambling once again in the next 2 weeksTHE SENATE will be rolling the dice on casino gambling once again in the next two weeks. As often happens, there is a new twist to Senate Bill 551 for senators to consider as the prime sponsor, long-time casino advocate Sen. Lou D'Allesandro, D-Manchester, tries to secure the one more vote he needs for the bill to pass. Originally, the bill designated Rockingham Park in Salem as the site of the casino. Not a surprise to anyone — but now the location would be determined by a competitive process, opening it up to other locations in the state. The change is intended to help find the one vote D'Allesandro and Chuck Morse, R-Salem, the Senate president and bill co-sponsor, need for passage.
