LINCOLN — It looks like Nebraska lawmakers will have at least two property tax reduction measures to consider after all.
The Education Committee voted Thursday to advance an amended version of Legislative Bill 959.
The proposal, said the committee chairwoman, State Sen. Kate Sullivan of Cedar Rapids, would offer a small amount of relief to property taxpayers.
“I wanted to get something. And, to me, this was the best I could do,” she said. “These are things I believe in as a policy choice.”
