Board that regulates NH physicians plans public hearing on new opioid prescription rulesThe board that regulates New Hampshire physicians has scheduled a hearing for April 9 to receive public input on permanent rules that will govern the prescribing of opioid painkillers in New Hampshire. If adopted, the rules will supplant emergency rules that the Board of Medicine enacted last November and which are scheduled to expire on May 4. The board adopted those emergency rules in early November and rejected a more comprehensive set of rules proposed by Gov. Maggie Hassan and Attorney General Joseph Foster. “The board is anticipating that we will have a lot of input at the public hearing on April 6,” said Sara Blodgett, director of licensure for health care professionals.
