HONOLULU - A grand injury has indicted Hawaii County Mayor Billy Kenoi on two counts of felony theft and other charges, the state attorney general's office said Wednesday. The charges come after the attorney general spent nearly a year investigating Kenoi's use of a county credit card to cover personal expenses. The charges also include two counts of misdemeanor theft, three counts of tampering with a government record and one count of false swearing. The office says the charges arose from alleged conduct from 2011 to 2015, while Kenoi was in office. The felony charges are punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
