Roanoke County police are investigating a second swastika discovered Tuesday afternoon near Hollins University, following a first one found on campus earlier this week, according to the university’s president. The swastika was discovered on state property in a tunnel that runs under U.S. 11, connecting the Hollins apartments to campus, President Nancy Gray wrote in an email to students and staff. She said the symbol has been covered up. Gray said it’s unclear if this swastika is related to one that was painted on The Rock, a beloved campus landmark. That swastika was found early Sunday morning. No arrests have been made in either case. “Either way, we remain steadfast and clear in that we have no tolerance for this kind of hateful act,” Gray wrote.
