Vince Young is being sued by a woman who claims the former Texas quarterback assaulted and pulled her hair her during a car ride after a 2014 NCAA Tournament game, according to TMZ Sports.
Tiffany Cayo is seeking $250,000 in damages and that Young was “extremely intoxicated,” according to the website. However, an attorney representing Young told Horns Digest the lawsuit is “a clear attempt to extract money from Mr. Young.”
Young’s lawyer told Horns Digest that Cayo first made the allegation to Young privately a year ago. Young’s legal team then interviewed witnesses, who claimed the alleged incident did not happen.
“Mr. Young’s counsel presented the results of the investigation to Ms. Cayo’s counsel in early 2015,” Young’s attorney said in a statement to Horns Digest. “Now, two years after this alleged incident and over a year after being informed that there was clear and unequivocal witness testimony contradicting Ms. Cayo’s allegations, Ms. Cayo and her counsel have brought this frivolous lawsuit in a clear attempt to extract money from Mr. Young.”
