Former state Conservation Commissioner Charles Grimsley filed a lawsuit today challenging a source of funding for the new lodge and conference center being built at Gulf State Park. Grimsley asked the Montgomery County Circuit Court to block what he claimed was the unlawful use of state funds. The Legislature passed a bill in 2013 authorizing the state to partner with the private sector to replace the lodge at Gulf State Park, destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in 2004. Gov.
