Nemours Foundation executives and the state Attorney General's Office have moved to settle their longstanding feud over how much money the health system allocates to Delaware's most vulnerable citizens. Both parties met in a settlement conference on March 7, less than a week after The News Journal published a three-part series detailing the decadeslong battle between the state and the Florida-based health system over A.I. duPont's legacy. In a joint motion filed on March 15 in Florida Circuit Court, attorneys representing both sides asked to cancel an upcoming hearing on the case as they continue to hash out an agreement, according to court records. "The parties made significant progress in their discussions and made a mutual, good faith commitment to continue to negotiate on a potential resolution of their disputes," the motion said.
