CARLSBAD- Residents will soon be able to send their love for the Carlsbad Caverns around the world. In honor of the National Park Service's 100th anniversary, the U.S. Postal Service is turning an image of the caverns, taken by artist Richard McGuire, into a postage stamp. It is the fifth of 16 total National Park Forever Stamp images, which are gradually being revealed within a three-week period. A news release by the United States Postal Service said the stamp's first day of issue will be June 2, when it will be formally introduced at a ceremony at the World Stamp Show-NY 2016. Each of the National Parks depicted on the stamps will also have their own dedication ceremony as well, according to the news release by the United States Postal Service. The ceremony date for the Carlsbad Caverns has not been announced yet. Read more: www.alamogordonews.com/story/news/local/2016/04/09/carlsbad-caverns-put-postage-stamp/82840316/
