Photo: Special to The RegisterState Sen. Jeff Danielson has poured his heart and soul into his career in the Iowa Senate, and he has a tattoo on his left shoulder to prove it. Danielson, 45, a Cedar Falls Democrat, had the ink work finished on the tattoo during a session Sunday afternoon at Third Eye Tattoo in his community. He had an outline of the artwork drawn a couple of months ago. "I have decided to look at things that are important in my life and a tattoo is a way to express that," Danielson said. "So it's an original work." The tattoo has the words "Iowa State Senate" on the top, with an eagle, a laurel wreath and the Iowa motto. It also has the letters "SPQR," which is an acronym for the Latin words "The Roman Senate and People," referring to the government of the ancient Roman Republic.
