Two sons of a Dubuque woman who started a heroin-addiction support group died within hours of each other over the weekend of apparent overdoses from the drug.
Zachary J. McPoland, 31, and Terry T. McPoland, 27, both of Dubuque, died on Saturday.
Their mother, Vicki Allendorf, posted a message about their deaths late Saturday on her ”I Hate Heroin” Facebook page.
“IHH will be shut down for the next week. I lost two of my sons to overdose tonight,” she wrote. “Pray for our family and for peace for my sons. I will never again be the same.”
