Gov. Bentley's 'activities and actions' are disappointing: Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey
Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey said while she does not want to judge the actions of Gov. Robert Bentley, she conceded the scandal surrounding the second term Republican has been "disappointing." Speaking to the Auburn Plainsman, the campus newspaper for her alma mater Auburn University, Ivey reiterated she was prepared to serve as governor if Bentley steps down or is forced from office over the ongoing scandal involving his relationship with former advisor Rebekah Caldwell Mason. "Judge not, that ye be not judged," Ivey told the Plainsman. "We're all very disappointed in the governor's activities and actions. They speak for themselves. It saddens me that the highest office in the land is receiving such low marks right now." However, she added "that's his call (whether to resign)."
