Univ. of Tenn. campus workers question Haslam on outsourcing at dedication event
After a dedication ceremony at the University of Tennessee, Tami Shultz, a facility services staffer, approached Gov. Bill Haslam.
Other members of United Campus Workers followed her, two of them recording the conversation with their cellphones.
"I was wondering why you haven't spoken to the people yet about campus outsourcing," she said.
The governor told her the plan to potentially outsource maintenance and management of state-owned buildings, including those on college campuses, hadn't been finalized and "we're just looking at it."
