Carjacking leads to multiple-vehicle accident and highway shutdown in NashuaNASHUA — Two robberies and a high-speed chase across state lines sent several people to the hospital and ended with the arrest of a man on the Everett Turnpike Friday afternoon, authorities said. Jonathan Calvin, 31, of Nashua was arrested on multiple charges, Nashua and state police said, though details of those charges were not released Friday night. The incident began when Calvin allegedly carjacked a motorist around 2:20 p.m. on Main Street in Nashua, state police said. He crashed on the Everett Turnpike between exits 4 and 5. When a Good Samaritan stopped to help, he assaulted and stabbed her and "commandeered her vehicle," said State Police Troop B Commander Nate Noyes. That began the second leg of Calvin’s attempted getaway: He led Nashua police on a high-speed chase southbound on the Everett Turnpike across the state border, where Massachusetts State Police picked up the chase, Noyes said. Calvin then turned around and traveled north, eventually losing control around Exit 4. Read more: www.unionleader.com/public-safety/wild-chase-unleashed-mayhem-on-nashua-turnpike-20160415
