Edgewater man charged with embezzling $1.6M from Fort Lee-based clothierA former accountant for a Fort Lee-based clothing manufacturer has been arrested and charged with embezzling $1.6 million from company accounts, authorities said Saturday. Pyong Hyun “Brandon” Yoon, 40, was arrested Friday at his Edgewater home by officers from the white-collar crimes unit of the Bergen County Prosecutor Office, assisted by police from Fort Lee and Edgewater. Yoon is alleged to have embezzled the funds from Southpole/Wicked Fashions between 2011 and 2016, and to have used the money to pay his personal expenses, including his mortgage, a car lease, rent, and credit-card bills, authorities said. Yoon was charged with one count of computer-related theft in excess of $250,000, which is a first-degree offense punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison and a fine. He was also charged with one count of theft by deception in excess of $75,000, a crime of the second degree that is punishable by five to 10 years in prison and a fine.
