Pa. lawmakers want public to get more info about state spendingSaying that the website he helped create is now outdated, a Beaver County state legislator is set to announce proposed sweeping changes Monday to PennWATCH, the online state database that makes government spending publicly accessible. State Rep. Jim Christiana, R-15, Brighton Township, said in a statement that his legislation, which he dubbed PennWATCH 2.0, would expand the amount of data available on the website, implement administrative changes and update the technology. Legislators approved creating PennWATCH in 2011 after Christiana introduced the measure. The website went live in December 2012. “The website, which is managed by the governor’s office of administration, has been neglected.
