Purdue University President Mitch Daniels announced on Wednesday a tuition freeze for the fifth consecutive year. Tuition and fees will remain flat through the 2017-2018 school year, Daniels announced to the Purdue Student Government. Resident tuition will stay stagnant at $10,002 and out-of-state students will continue to pay $28,804. International tuition will remain at $30,804. 'We're looking in every place, and I think there's plenty more to do, to reduce the non-essential spending," Daniels said, adding that the essentials include teaching and research. The college has saved a large amount of money by buying smarter, building more efficiently, modernizing its health plan and using existing resources more carefully, he said.
