Wisconsin's public school districts will share $37.7 million in state-funded library aid, or about $31.78 per student, the state Department of Public Instruction announced Tuesday. The payments from the Common School Fund, due April 25, represent a $2.2 million, or about $2.74 per child, increase over the 2014-15 school year. "Common School Fund aid is a major source, and sometimes the only source, of revenue for library services in our public schools," state Superintendent Tony Evers said in a statement announcing the distribution. "We depend on Wisconsin's teacher librarians to advocate for strong public school library programs that can offer a broad range of resources to support student learning," he said.
